Maruti Suzuki is planning to bring a premium model of its popular car Wagon R. Wagon R will be launched under the name Maruti Suzuki XL5 and it will be sold from the company’s premium dealership Nexa.
Compared to the standard model of Maruti Wagon R, major changes will be seen in the premium model on its front. The new model will have a redesigned grille, new headlamps, new headlamps, new bumpers and LED daytime running lights. It is expected to be given projector headlamp and ground clearance of around 180 mm.
Leaked photos have revealed that the premium model tail lamps and high mounted LED stop lamps at the rear. There will be no change in the design on the rear side, that is, its rear look will be similar to the standard Wagon R. The interior of the new car is expected to be given in black color like Maruti’s premium MPV XL6. Apart from this, more new features will be included in this car.
The premium Wagon R is expected to be launched only in the 1.2-liter petrol engine, which is in line with the BS6 emission norms. At the same time, the standard model of Wagon R. comes with 1-litre and 1.2-liter petrol engine options. The premium model will also get a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options.
Maruti Suzuki has launched a premium MPV XL6 based on the Ertiga, with some changes. The XL6’s front look is completely different from that of Ertiga, while from the rear it resembles Ertiga. It is a 6-seater MPV, while Ertiga is a 7-seater. The XL6’s cabin is completely black in color, giving a premium feel. Similar changes will be seen in the premium model of Wagon R.
