Renowned Automobile manufacturing Company Mahindra is working on the New Generation SUV for the Indian market. After the launch of Mahindra XUV 300, Mahindra Thar, Scorpio and XUV 500 are in line next to be launched in the Indian market. Mahindra has already launched Marazzo, Ultras G4. There will be a more powerful engine in the upcoming Mahindra’s updated SUVs.
Mahindra is updating all its cars including Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Thar and Mahindra XUV 500. It is expected that 2.0-litre engine may be available in the upcoming Mahindra XUV 500 and Mahindra Scorpio. The new engine will be there to meet the BS-6 standards. At the same time, its mid-level version will be installed in Mahindra Scorpio, which will generate the power of 160 HP (horsepower).
The new 2.0-litre engine will be installed in Mahindra Scorpio and the Mahindra XUV 500, which will weigh 80KG less than the current 2.2-litre MHawk engine used. The new SUV from Mahindra will 6-speed manual transmission along with automatic gearbox. Four-wheel drive options will be available in the updated Mahindra SUV.
According to the new information, the 2.0-litre engine will be available in 3 variants. Its mid-variant will generate the power of 16 bhp, which will be more powerful than the older versions of Mahindra Scorpio. Mahindra Scorpio’s current 2.2-litre engine will generate the power of 120 bhp and 140 bhp. At the same time, the engine in Mahindra XUV 500 will generate the power of 155 bhp.
The new 2.0-litre engine produces more engine torque than the engine used in the older versions. The current 2.2-litre engine generates 320 Nm of torque. The all-new upcoming Scorpio has been codenamed Z101, which is being developed at Mahindra’s North American Technical centre. It is the same centre where Mahindra Marazzo was developed and designed. At the same time, the weight of the New Scorpio will weigh lesser than the older versions of Mahindra Scorpio, because more aluminium is used in its engine. The all-new Mahindra Scorpio will be in the market by the end of this year.
